Country Lane – Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

You may have noticed by now that I’m a big fan of the colour grey. It’s on everything from my wall colours, to my cards. However, for the Country Lane Suite I was keen to pick up on the cosy themes from the stamp set and use some of the warm vibrant colours Stampin’ Up! has featured in the gorgeous papers.

The Country Lane Suite

This is comprised of the Country Home Stamp Set, Country Lane DSP, Braided Linen Trim, Chicken Wire Elements, Galvanised Metallic Paper and Clips and the beautiful Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

Country Home Gift Box

To make the gift box, I used the Bakers Boxes and put a piece of the Country Lane Designer Series Paper inside across the window. Then I stamped the floral image twice on Shimmery White Card Stock in Sahara Sand ink. It was great fun and so relaxing to fill in the images using the Aqua Painter and the Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake ink pads. Once it was dry I went around some of the lines with some darker, more intense ink to define the image and then added some Shimmer Paint.

I layered the floral images over some Chicken Wire and cut some Tranquil Tide and DSP strips to go over that. Then the greeting was punched using Tranquil Tide and the Everyday Label Punch. The Braided Linen Trim bow just finished it off.

Country Lane Cards

To make the cards, I used a Fresh Fig card base and the DSP as an overlay.  Then I added a stamped off Tranquil Tide rectangle using the Buffalo Check stamp.  The churn was inked in Night of Navy and a little layer of Chicken Wire and Braided Trim added.  I coloured the flowers the same as before and popped above the churn.

For the second card, I cut a Tranquil Tide card base and stamped the churn and flowers with Sahara Sand ink as before, and coloured in the same.  I also added Poppy Parade ink to the poppy seed heads. I stamped the background several times as a focal point, and added an anchor of a DSP strip and Fresh Fig Card strip. The Braided Trim adds such a rustic look to the cards.

Altogether much brighter cards than I usually make, although Tranquil Tide is becoming a fast favourite! How sad that we only have it til next June :(.

Your painted flowers and foliages looks great! I really am intrigued with your last card. I just love how the colors fit so perfectly with the green card base and the stamped tiles look so cool behind the main image. Great ideas!! Smiles, Elizabeth
