Snowflake Showcase 2 – Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

It’s finally here! The launch of the Snowflake Showcase! The Artisan Design Team have made two (or more!) projects each with this beautiful bundle.  You may remember from my last post that these exclusive products comprise two stamp sets; the Happiness Surrounds and Snow is Glistening, as well as coordinating Snowfall dies, White Velvet Paper and Snowflake Trinkets.

Snow is Glistening

My featured stamp set for this hop is the Snow is Glistening stamp set.  I absolutely adore snowflake stamps anyway, but these are so pretty and delicate.  You can use them with or without the dies, as on my two projects below.

To make the first card, I stamped snowflakes in different sizes across some Whisper White card. I used Powder Pink and Smoky Slate, and also stamped off Merry Merlot and again with Smoky Slate to give a lighter shade for the largest snowflake.

The greeting was stamped on Basic Grey with Whisper White Craft Ink and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I mounted it on a Smoky Slate card base and then a Snowflake Trinket just finished it off.

Using the Snowfall Dies

The second card was made by layering some Basic Grey card on to White Velvet card and then again on to Basic Grey.  I stamped across the background using Versa Mark, just leaving a few more gaps than last time.  The flurry was cut out of Vellum Card Stock and then some Metallic Pearls added. I cut the Snowflake from White Velvet and added some sparkle from the Glimmer Paper. Then I taped off part of the greeting and stamped on Basic Grey with Whisper White Craft ink, heat embossing with White Embossing powder as before.  To make the pointed banner, leave the length a bit longer and score either side of the greeting, so that the distance from each end is the same. Then score again, leaving a 5mm 1/8″ gap.  Fold the sides down at the first score line and then back up at the second score line.  It should leave you with a raised banner. Then just cut the ends into banner points.

Those are my simple Christmas cards using our amazing new bundle, to see more inspiration hop along to Sarah through the pink button below.
