Top 5 Stamp Sets by Stampin’ Up!

One question my new customers and team members ask me is ‘which stamp sets should I get first?’  Now, whilst this is very subjective, tastes vary from person to person, Stampin’ Up! have provided a huge selection of stamp sets to meet everyones’ needs.  So whether you are vintage-loving, eclectic, traditional, clean and simple or a mix of lots of different styles, there’s something for you.

My Top Five Stamp Sets

Lovely as a Tree

This is Stampin’ Up!’s longest-running stamp set and it’s easy to see why; the images are great for lots of occasions, there are lots of techniques you can use them for (thumping is a great one! See my video here) and they are beautifully detailed. Christmas, birthday, sympathy, anniversary; they’re all covered with this set.

Teeny Tiny Sentiments

This is a wonderful stamp set! Huge greetings have their place, but these little greetings can slot in without detracting from your card design.  The fonts are excellent and all the most common (and uncommon) occasions are there.  The sentiments also fit inside the Classic Label punch, so no fussy-cutting. Hooray! You’ll probably have noticed that most of my designs have a small sentiment rather than a large one, if you like that look then this one is for you…

If this set doesn’t grab you, the Thoughtful Banners set and punch are great too…

Blooms & Wishes

This is a beautiful set (hang on, I feel like I’m saying that about them all..!). Like the Lovely as a Tree, it lends itself to multiple occasions; Thank You, Birthday, Anniversary, Sympathy, Hello/Just Because, to name a few.  This is one of my top stamp sets for a variety of reasons; it has a watercolored, hand-drawn feel to it, it has multiple ‘pieces’ which means the options for designing are endless, and it’s photopolymer, so you can see where you’re stamping.  This set is great for making wreath backgrounds or embellishing words and phrases with leaves and flowers, or using as a floral centrepiece. I could go on, instead watch my masking technique video using these lovely leaves…

Remarkable You

Another floral stamp set masterpiece for you! These bold, line art images lend themselves to many different occasions, and tiny greetings. 🙂 I particularly love an image that fills a large space, and needs only a tiny amount of embellishing.  If you’re after a simple starter, this is it, and look how beautiful…

(Please note: this card design is Stampin’ Up!’s with a few alterations.)

I love the font, the script and the sketched look of this stamp set so much.

Watercolour Wings

This beautiful stamp set combines lots of different things:

  • Watercolour effect
  • Two-step stamping technique
  • Photopolymer
  • Greetings and images
  • Coordinating dies (no fussy-cutting)
  • Two different sizes
  • Butterflies!

It has been a firm favourite with my team and customers, and I love the versatility of butterflies; they make any occasion prettier.

(You can learn how to do the different colours on this card by reading this blog post, or watching this video.)
