I was so thankful for this blog hop because it pushed me to use a bundle I probably would have avoided (is that a terrible thing to say?) I always associate rainbows with my younger days and therefore don’t reach for them now, until I got a hold of our amazing Sunshine and Rainbows Suite!
The Beautiful Bundle
What I made
I made three birthday cards, two for any age and one for my niece Georgia, who was turning 7. My colour selection was one of my top secret tricks, shall I share it with you? When I’m deciding on my colours I often pull out the packs of A4 card (or the equivalent for my US readers xx) that coordinate with our DSP and use one of each of those colours. Stampin’ Up! Colour experts have grouped each trio to work well together and sometimes it helps you to use unexpected colours you might not have considered. In this case, I used the Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink and Pool Party which coordinates with the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.
For each card I made a smaller rainbow and used the dies to make cloud shapes with a small sun peeking out. I love the white on white look but you could ink up the edges if you wanted to make them look grey or blue or add a silver glimmer cloud underneath so the silver lining peeks out.
For Georgia’s U R 7 card, I die cut the letters and number and places the clouds and rainbow behind them so they just peek through. I used the same flag point greeting style on each three and added a dash of glimmer paper and sequins to lift them.
I hope you like these projects and they inspire you to play with this bundle and experiment with your coordinating trio card stock packs!
Each Artisan Blog Hop I run a competition to win my projects from that month and a product gift. This month’s product prize is the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies. To win, just leave a comment below this post with the three colours you would use for this bundle and I’ll select a winner at random next month. You can earn extra entries by following me on YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram but don’t forget to add where you’ve followed to the comment below so I can add those entries in.
