We have an exciting offer especially for our hosts! Our new Dashing Along Designer Series Paper is available with qualifying orders for one month only!
The Artisan Design Team got to create some projects with this gorgeous paper and I really loved it. There are six different designs in Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green, which makes them perfect for your Christmas projects. There are lots of tone-on-tone and smaller patterns, which makes them so versatile.
I decided to create a treat pouch and coordinating frame card as gift giving and cards are what I do most of at Christmas-time.
Dashing Along Treat Pouch
I took one of our Kraft Pillow Boxes and sponged it with Frost White Shimmer Paint, which left a sparkly transparent finish. Then I cut some of the flourishes using Shimmery White Glitter Paper and the Detailed Deer Thinlit Dies and tucked them behind a Starburst punched piece of DSP with a Vellum Card Stock overlay. I also added some of the Braided Linen Trim which is beautiful and perfect for ALL your Autumn/Christmas projects.
Then I foil cut a deer from the Champagne Foil Sheets and added a Merry Christmas with Garden Green ink from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set.
Dashing Along Frame Card
I’ve seen frame (or shadow box) cards everywhere recently and wanted to have a go myself. With Crumb Cake card, I cut two regular cards (14.9cm x 21cm and scored them at 10.5cm) and then trimmed the inside right edge of the first card by 1cm. Put that card (Card 1) to one side.
Then I took the second card and opened it up. I scored the right edge at 1cm and then moved the original 10.5cm score line to 1cm on the right of the score line and scored again. You should have an open card with a score line 1cm from the right hand side and 10.5cm and 11.5cm along. That is Card 2.
The 1cm scored lines are the sides of your shadow box. Crease along those lines and then cut any window you may choose into the card space between the two 1cm scored lines. Then you should have a flat piece measuring 9.5cm across, and then a 1cm side, a window and another 1cm side.
Take the Card 1 again and place in front of you, closed, with the shorted edge at the back on the right.. Turn Card 2 so the flat 9.5cm piece goes at the very back. Decorate your pieces as desired.
To secure them, add some Tear n Tape to the back of the Card 1 and adhere it to the flat piece of Card 2. Then add Tear n Tape to the very edge of Card 2 where the scored side is and adhere to the inside of the front of Card 1.
You should be able to press your card flat, but the sides should lift when you open the card.
Dashing Along Card Front
For the front, I cut some DSP to 9.5cm x 13.9cm and adhered to the front. The I used the green star printed DSP to make a banner, and added a Shimmery White Glimmer Paper Starburst shape with a Vellum overlay. To embellish I cut a Champagne Foil Sheet deer and added Merry Wishes from the stamp set. Then a little bit of Silver Metallic Thread to finish.
The paper is so subtle that it can be used on lots of different projects, and even better that it’s free with a qualifying order of £200!
