Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – April Showers

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop.

Currently you are visiting Rhoda MacPherson. Hello there! You have come from the lovely Mikaela Titheridge and you can continue hopping by using the next button at the end of this post.

I’m delighted to by hopping with the Stampin’ Creative ladies today with a whole collection of April shower goodness.  If you’re new to my blog, my style is usually very clean and simple with lots of white space, or one dominant colour. For this hop I wanted to celebrate the clean and simple card and show that our makes can really and truly be quick and easy.

Clean and Simple Card One:

I used the cloud from the Sunshine & Rainbows Suite with some Pool Party and Tranquil Tide card as my two project bases, along with some Shimmery White card and Glimmer Paper.

For the first card, I die cut two Shimmery White clouds and coloured them using the Aqua Painter and Pool Party ink. Then some simple Pool Party raindrops completed the focal point.  I added some epoxy raindrops and a Tranquil Tide heart (using the Cookie Cutter Punch!) and a coordinating ribbon.

Very simple front:

And a little rainbow inside…

I used glue dots to layer up the clouds both inside and out, and paired the blues with Rich Razzleberry for the rainbow.

Clean and Simple Card Two:

For the second card, I used Glimmer Paper for the cloud and punched out some Powder Pink hearts and hung them from Bakers Twine.  I used VersaMark to stamp the raindrops so that they were a little lighter than the first card and didn’t detract from the hearts.

To finish I added a little greeting with a Glimmer banner behind…

And a little rainbow inside…

In all honesty, I wish I’d added the clouds right to the bottom of the card instead of behind the strip, so if you have a go at recreating this one, tag me in the post so I can see the new improved version 🙂 We learn as we go, right? If you haven’t already got the Sunshine & Rainbows bundle, grab it quickly as it’s only current until the end of May and if you love clean and simple cards, you can see more here and here.

Thank you for visiting! The next stop link is below.

If you’d like to order, the items are below along with my Host Code for April, so you get two gifts in May! Hooray!

Happy Stampin’

Rhoda xx
