Lovely Stampin’ Up! Easter Treats

Thanks for stopping by!

My family always bought us Easter eggs when my sisters and I were little girls and as my mum was one of eight children (!), we got lots of chocolate eggs from our aunts, uncles and grandparents.  So much that it used to take us weeks to eat them all!

I now live in Shetland and Easter doesn’t seem to be as big a deal as it was when we were little, maybe it has changed over time? Or perhaps it’s a cultural thing? Either way, I try to treat my boys at Easter time, as well as the children of our close friends, to try and share some of the joy that we experienced when we were little.

One of the things that excited me most in the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue was something that I was surprised people missed on their first flick through… the little egg boxes!  I couldn’t wait to decorate them up for Easter treats for my boys and some special friends.

Lovely Stampin’ Up! Easter Egg Boxes

Here’s what I made:

I used the Botanical Builder framelit dies and some Marina Mist ink lightly sponged on the edges.  You could also use Wisteria Wonder or Soft Sky if you’re looking for the hydrangea effect.  The boxes can be spritzed a different colour (use our Spritzers with a few drops of the re-inker of your choice and some rubbing alcohol and leave to dry before decorating.)

Here’s the inside…

My colour inspiration…

I often draw my colours and inspiration from things around me and thought it might be fun to have a colour inspiration page that you can go to when you feel stuck in a rut.

New things coming up

I’m also planning a few new things… I hope to start a series of videos that cover everything from the basics of stamping, through to layout and design and on to more advanced or detailed makes.  I hope they’ll be a source of help and encouragement for everyone and also inspire you to try new things.

I will make them subtitled as I always do, and short, but on the basics videos I will leave in some of the steps I often cut from my more technical videos, such as opening the ink pads, cutting card bases and so on.  I hope there will be something for everyone.

If you have any questions about stamping or die-cutting then I’d love to hear from you.  I need to hear what you are struggling with and the questions you need answers to.  Please drop me an email or post in the comments below and I can get started on answering them.

I hope these little Easter treats inspire you to treat your loved ones this Easter.  If you have any Easter crafting planned I’d love to hear, or if you have a question about any of it please post it below. I’d love to help!

Happy Stampin’

Rhoda xx
