If you’ve been here before, you’ll know that I absolutely adore the Frosted Floral Suite from the new Stampin’ Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue. It’s year-round perfection in the most beautiful of colours. So when I was asked to create some projects for the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Blog, I jumped at the chance to create these little hoops. My last Corporate Blog Post for Stampin’ Up! was a Rooted In Nature wreath, but had thought about something a little smaller; something perfect for a tree or parcel.
The Frosted Floral Suite
This is made up of the First Frost Stamp Set, Frosted Bouquet Framelit dies, Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon, Frosted Floral Specialty DSP, Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets, Iridescent Boxwood Wreaths and a coordinating Card Stock pack.
Frosted Floral Tree Decorations
To make the tree decorations, I stamped and die cut the flowers in Merry Merlot, Blackberry Bliss, and Powder Pink and the leaves and foliage in Tranquil Tide, Pear Pizzazz and Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I took out the centre part of the hoop and used Glue Dots to adhere the leaves around the sides of the hoops. The flowers were raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered over the top.
On the largest hoop, I die cut the leaves from Shimmery White Card Stock and coloured them with Tranquil Tide ink and the Aqua Painter. When it was dry, I added a layer of Shimmer Paint using the Aqua Painter (just tip the pot so the ink pools in the lid and paint it on from there.)
To finish, I just stamped a greeting on a piece of Whisper White and placed it over the inside hoop. Once you have it in the correct place (bearing in mind the flowers will cover part of the hoop so place it a little to the left/right depending) then bend it down over the edges of the hoop and adhere underneath with Glue Dots to stop it slipping. Then I pushed the inside hoop back into the frame and added a tied Tranquil Tide loop to hang it from. Once the hoop had been tightened, I bent the banner ends forwards to lie flat.
These were such fun projects to make and would also be great for a class, if you’re a demonstrator. To order these items, please click on my shop link and search for Frosted Floral, or alternatively click the pictures below. Don’t forget to use the Host Code below for an extra free gift from me. The hoops can be bought in sewing shops or on Amazon/eBay very cheaply. I hope you enjoy making yours and please do let me know how you get on and what you think of them.
