Fancy Friday Blog Hop – CASE the Catty

I’m so excited to be hopping on my first Fancy Friday! Not only do I get to hop with some of my all time SU heroes, I also get to CASE the Catty as that is the theme this month. Our Concept Artists at Stampin’ Up! are so talented and the new Spring Summer catalogue and Annual Catalogue are both full of beautiful projects. However, I immediately knew which one I would CASE, it is right on the cover of the Spring Summer book, and stopped me in my tracks the first time I saw it.

I had two new baby cards to make so thought this was the perfect opportunity to get out my Little Twinkle Stamp Set and matching Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Papers.  I made a landscape version and a portrait version. Here’s the bundle…

Baby Girl Card

My landscape baby girl card…

I used the Rectangle Stitched Framelit dies to make the border and covered the whole base of the card with the DSP. Then it was fussy cutting galore as I cut out the heart and star.  Thankfully the little Sparkle Glimmer stars are made with the Little Twinkle punch, which comes as part of the bundle. I love a bit of texture so added the ribbon underneath and frayed the ends. Here’s a close up…

Baby Boy Card

My sister had a little boy recently, so this is the card to celebrate the arrival of Jesse. I chose a mix of Night of Navy and Mint Macaron, instead of the Powder Pink.

And close up…

I used Glue Dots under the Glimmer Stars to make them pop off the card a little and some Dimensionals behind the greeting and star. I love creating a little bit of depth with something so simple. I also heat embossed the white ink with our White Emboss powder straight on top of the White Craft ink to make it pop even more.

I hope you like these little baby cards and have been inspired so far in our CASEing the Catty hop.  Our next hop is over to the lovely Jennifer Picard, who I have long admired.  Have a look to see what she made by clicking the button below.

In the meantime, happy stampin’

Rhoda xx
