How to make a Special Reasons ‘just because’ card

The sun is shining and it feels like Spring outside! I’m looking forward to blossom and flowers popping up everywhere and the feeling of hope in the air.  I think a little ray of sunshine lifts everyone’s spirits and just makes everything seem possible and it’s definitely what I needed today.

I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to do with this little space I have on the web; there are so many possibilities.  If you’re on my mailing list *hi!* then you’ll know that I’m hoping to start a bank of videos and resources from the basics right through to design, elevating your makes and techniques. If there’s anything you’d really love to know, or would like to try, please drop a comment below or send me an email and let me know.  I want this space to be a place where I can share joy and inspiration with you, and then you’ll be able to share joy through peaceful moments crafting and then giving those projects to your loved ones.

Make a Special Reasons ‘just because’ card for someone special

I hope the project I’m sharing with you today will inspire you to make something for someone special.  I used the Special Reason bundle and it is a ‘just because’ card, one that I got joy through making and I hope will bring joy to the special person I made it for.

This card will also feature in an upcoming video that describes the process of creating and how this final design came about.  It took me a little while to find a layout I was happy with so I hope that I can use it to help you with your making process too, and perhaps spur you on to try new things.

So here’s the card:

I love the greeting and the inside reads… ‘except to let you know how special you are’.

My colour inspiration for the card was the amazing flowers around it.  If you’re a newsletter subscriber I sent a link with a private page on my blog for colour inspiration.  If you’d like me to share that page with you, sign up and I’ll share it on my next newsletter.  My subscribers are my VIPs and I send them extra things to help them on their crafting journey.

The die bundle I used is an extra-special one too.  The floral die can either cut a peep through window (how I’ve used it on the large circle), or paired with the outline die, can cut the flower completely out (how I made the smaller flower). There are so many different ways you can use this and paired with card, glimmer paper or patterned paper, you can create so many different looks.  I love our floral dies and stamps because they are very versatile too.  It can be ‘just because’, wedding, sympathy, birthday…

The green I used is Always Artichoke, which is an unsung hero of mine, which I paired up with Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder (but I think Sweet Sugarplum might have been better!)  Sometimes putting colours together can be difficult but a little inspiration from nature always helps!  For a final touch, a little silver thread (or ribbon if you’d rather) does the trick.

I’ll be back soon with the start of my video bank… eek! I’m excited about it but a little nervous. Please let me know what you’d like to see, I’d really appreciate it!

Happy Stampin and have a great weekend!

Rhoda xx
